I listened to Rick Warren give a talk to Pastors today and this quote made me do a double-take:

“We only believe the parts of the Bible we DO.”

Do you believe a Christian should tithe? Yes. Do you tithe? No.

You don’t believe a Christian should tithe.

Do you believe a Christian should forgive? Yes. Are you willing to forgive the strong grudge you are holding? No.

You don’t believe a Christian should forgive.

Messing up is one thing. Still serious since it is sin, but as flawed people…it happens.

Lifestyles are different. They point to belief.

Makes me thankful for Jesus and loving me despite my unbelief.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. James 1:22-24
