SEX!
That was our final taboo topic at the Well today.
It was fun and serious at the same time.
When approaching the topic of Sex from a Biblical Worldview, you have to be brutally honest about 1Corinthians 6, and what Sex really does…makes you one flesh.
You also must point people to Jesus and the full redemption in Him.
I think the Church should be leading the discussion about Sex rather than hiding from it and being shocked that the conversation even exists. We come across as so out of touch. Its sad because God is the one who created sex to begin with. You can’t get 2 chapters into the Bible before it is mentioned!
Random Thoughts From A Great Day At The Well:
-The Well is a unique place. The only worship service I know where the congregation will sing “Let’s Talk About Sex Baby,” and “I Smell Sex and Candy” in the middle of the sermon.
-I am pumped for our offering to bring clean water to Africa!
-Yes, I said “heavy petting.” Gotta make a little fun of the Christian bubble and the lack of legit discussion about sex our generation had in youth group world.
-Great crowds today! Probably our largest night time crowd of the year. 11:05 was strong today too.
-I am very proud of our Well Kids teams. The presentation of the Ark and how the ministry is producing is at an all-time high in my opinion. Sarah freakin Graves.
-My HIGHLIGHT of the day, without question: seeing so many people stay to help after the service. I am now hoping and praying for some consistency and ownership. Thrilled and thankful for what I saw and the time after the service given by many.
-How good is Jovanna in the Starting Point videos? She has a great blog too.
Other thoughts:
I do not get why wearing black is a big deal and gets people pumped in college football.
Just get cold already.
Thanks to a friend with a major connection of free passes…Tommy will have his Disney debut this week.
I am looking forward to being the speaker at the Leadership/Staff Retreat of the Florida Baptist Childrens Home on Tuesday.
